Digital Art Studio was recently chosen to brand two Voyager trains as part of Birmingham’s Big Hoot campaign.
The Big Hoot is a public art event delivered by Wild in Art in partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital. 89 owl sculptures, along with 120 smaller ‘owlets’ have been created and individually designed by Birmingham’s creative community and 25,000 young people. The owls have been placed across Birmingham’s streets, parks and open spaces.
The task at hand
Installing the graphics at Central Rivers Bombardier in Staffordshire, we had a couple of early starts – 2am! The graphics had to adhere to substrate guidelines as the trains would be travelling in excess of 100mph. In addition, placement needed to ensure that we didn’t obscure passengers views from inside the carriages.
We installed eight graphic prints in total which consisted of printed self adhesive vinyl
Digital Art Studio specialise in production and installation of graphics in special conditions, and we are happy to advise on materials and processes for any bespoke projects. This particular project was an interesting one as we love Birmingham, and it was great to see the campaign rolled out across the second city!
